COUNTRY STAR ON THE RISE

The future is bright for country music's latest star on the rise Troy Kemp.
2006 started with a bang for Troy, qualifying as one of the Top 20 Finalists for The Toyota Star Maker Competition at The Tamworth Country Music Festival.
An event that has been a great launching pad for artists such as Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole and many others.

In February 2007 Troy was invited to perform and represent ‘Tourism Australia’ at an event held in Canada called ‘G’day Toronto’, where he performed amongst a wealth of Australian celebrities that included Silverchair, The Living End, Keith Urban, Terri and Bindi Irwin and Canadian, Tom Cochran.

In June 2007 Troy visited Nashville where he performed at the CMA Festival and recorded six tracks with expat producer Mark Moffatt.
His debut single “Throwaway Day” is currently being aired on Foxtel CMC.

2008 has seen Troy and his band building good momentum within the Australian country scene. After a successful string of shows at this year’s Tamworth Festival Troy has secured himself a place at both the ‘Gympie Muster’ and ‘Mud Bulls and Music’ festivals.

Troy is also touring alongside Mike Carr, Drew McAlister and Markus Meier as a member of the “Aussie’s Walk The Line” show, a tribute to Johnny Cash.

Troy performs tirelessly as a solo, acoustic artist and/or with his band in some of Newcastle’s finest entertainment venues.
